MARRIAGE

Making Love Last Forever

by Gary Smalley (Author)

A must for every couples' library, May 2, 2002

Reviewer: gary_nourse from NH United States

There are many books about Christian love and many books about how to make love last forever. I would suggest this book over most others. Gary is a brilliant and insightful writer. I suggest this book for any Christian (or non-Christian) to reinforce how to make love last forever.

Boundaries in Marriage

by Cloud/Townsend (Author)

Description: Boot Camp for Marriages, January 15, 2004

Reviewer: juli from Nashville, TN
This is an incredible book. It mirrors basic biblical principles and applies them to marriage. The whole time I was reading the book, I was thinking "This is so simple, but so profound". The book stresses Biblical "boundaries" for behavior between husband and wife. It encourages individuals to look at their own actions in a marriage and concentrate on improving their weaknesses. This could be uncomfortable for those who are unwilling to face the truth about themselve's or take responsibility for their own faults. But if you are looking to read something that could greatly improve your marriage and your attitude towards relationships in general; this is the book to read.

What Wives Wish Their Husbands Knew about Women

by Dr.James Dobson (Author)

Description: Great Book for Men!, May 23, 2002

Reviewer: hansolocpa from The Wild West
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It provided a lot of useful information and helped improve my marriage of 22 years. I highly recommend this book to husbands of any age. If you're a young husband, this book can REALLY help you get off to a good start.

God Is a Matchmaker

by Derek Prince (Author)

Worthy of Your Purchase, September 16, 2003

Reviewer: Elizabeth Numeroff from Oberlin, Pa United States

This book can be summarized in the author's "7 Biblical Principles Involved in Entering in a Marriage:"
  1. God Himself initiated marriage at the beginning of history.
  2. The decision that man was to be married proceeded from God, not man.
  3. God knew the kind of helper that man needed. Man did not.
  4. God prepared the woman for the man.
  5. God presented the woman to the man. The man did not have to go in search for her.
  6. God ordained the nature of their life together.
  7. Jesus upheld God's original plan of marriage as binding on all who would be His disciples.
The standard God has for marriage is high but not unattainable.

I appreciate that the author used "Biblical" principles. This written material proves that he is in fact a Bible scholar. Based on this book, I will purchase additional materials from this author.

Marriage Covenant

by Derek Prince (Author)

Fantastic, November 27, 2001

Reviewer: Joshua from Litchfield, Illinois United States

What an incredible little book this is. His explanation of the covenant was thorough and informative. As someone who is getting married soon I was in derision about what to read that will help me to know how I can be a good husband to my future spouse. I read this and GOD showed me many things that are important in that area. My future wife read it as well and was blessed. The only reason that I gave it 4 and not five stars is that I wish there would have been more to the book so that we could have gleaned much more from Mr. Prince's experience. Other than that I recommend for anyone getting married or even already married.

There are so many good truths on married life and how to keep a happy home. I give it two thumps up!

Let Me Be a Woman

by Elisabeth Elliot (Author)

Burned Out Housewives, look no further!, February 1, 2004

Reviewer: A customer from Swartz Creek, MI United States

Decided to review this book finally: Every copy I ever loan out never comes back, so I'm ordering 5 or 10 copies for friends getting married or already married. I was an on-the-go career girl till I got married: Self sufficient, self-supportive, and probably too self-indulgent. After I made the transition to stay at home mom (six kids), I thought I was losing my mind. This book gave me the refreshing, God centered perspective I needed to find and changed my life. So many women rush around trying to do things to validate themselves outside their home, that they miss how hugely important their role is in the home. This beautiful look at a woman's femininity will change your life.
